 Chenin Boutwell Driveway Gates, Sketch

Sketch depicts driveway gate with equal sized panels on each side.  Panels will be approximately 7 feet wide.  Hinges are decorative and 4.5 inch, lubricated hinges are used and attached to steel posts, set into concrete and attach to sides of pilaster collumns at each side of driveway.  Handle is for illustrative purposes; gate closure is with small flipper type catch at top inside of active section.  Other metal can be applied for decorative purpose.

Gate is Mahogany, intend to finish with a natural stain and topcoat of low sheen, resistant to sun and weather damage.  All joints are mortise and tenon, glued and cross pinned with hardwood dowels.  Panels are fitted with splines to conceal any opening after some minimal shrinking of the wood.
